Any examples of iphone / client iphone applications where both servers and clients are iOS devices?

I would like to create a server / client application in which one iphone runs on the server, and all other devices on the same Wi-Fi network can connect to the server device and send and receive information. Are there any examples of starting a server on a device and allowing it to be used by other devices on the network?

I studied using GameKit, but the maximum limit of 16 people is unsuccessful. cocoaasyncsocket seems like a good option, but how do I configure one device as a server and look for it on other devices?
