It is not possible to read the ".then" property from undefined when testing the creators of an asynchronous action using shorthand and reaction

I am trying to write some kind of test using react, redux-mock-store and redux, but I keep getting errors. Maybe because mine Promiseis not done yet?

The action creator fetchListing()actually works when I try it on dev and production, but I am having trouble passing the test.

store.dispatch(actions.fetchListings())returns undefined. You cannot call. .thenabout this question.

. . , fetchListings , .. undefined.

return (dispatch) => {
    return request.then( (data) => {
      dispatch({ type: FETCH_LISTINGS, payload: data });
    });
  }

. then, . , then undefined

, , , thunk.

Thunk :

return fetch()

I know this is an old thread. But I think the problem is that your action creator is not asynchronous.

Try:

export async function fetchListings() {
  const request = axios.get('/5/index.cfm?event=stream:listings');
  return (dispatch) => {
    request.then(( { data } ) => {
      dispatch({ type: FETCH_LISTINGS, payload: data });
    });
  }
}

The creator of your action should return the promise, as shown below:

// actions/index.js
import axios from 'axios';

import { FETCH_LISTINGS } from './types';

export function fetchListings() {
  return (dispatch) => {
    return axios.get('/5/index.cfm?event=stream:listings')
    .then(( { data } ) => {
      dispatch({ type: FETCH_LISTINGS, payload: data });
    });
  }
};
Run codeHide result
