PHP extension: mysql in phpmyadmin

When I enter phpmyadmin, it says my extension is PHP: MySQL.

I know this needs to be changed for mysqli, but how to do it? Is this something I can do on my own or is it the server configuration parameter that I need to change my web host?

To tell phpMyAdmin to use the extension mysqli, you must add the following line toconfig.inc.php

/* Select mysqli if your server has it */
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['extension'] = 'mysqli';

You cannot change this parameter from inside phpMyAdmin. You may have to ask your web host to do this for you.

I think you need to upgrade to the latest version of PhpMyAdmin and PHP ...
