how to make git statusto view modified files in the past commit?

NOTE: this question may already have been asked, but it is worded differently. however, I am struck by the fact that the search for the next expression in Google does not provide any useful results: git status for past commit.

git statusis the wrong team here. If you want to see what the previous commit did, you should use git show <commit>.
