Maven Web Project HTTP Status [404] - [Not Found]

Question

I started a web project maven-archetype-webappwith the following structure using IntellIJ,

The file is web.xmlas follows:

There is no Java source file in the project yet. I get an error message HTTP Status [404] – [Not Found].

I clean and build the project with Mavensuccess. I upgraded to OS Sierra, and the OS is not installed Maven. So I had to manually configure it. Information about Maven is here,

What should I do to start a project?

As already mentioned, changed it to

   <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>dispatcher</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

Does not help.
