Cannot start emulator: "Emulator: warning: requested RAM 1024M is too high for your system. Reducing to the maximum supported size 0M"

I believe because I updated my SDK and tools without updating HAXM. Unfortunately, I do not have administrator rights on this computer and you need help figuring out how to make the emulator work without updating HAXM. Any ideas? Lower SDK? Maybe getting a new HAXM is the only way forward?
