Built-in terminal setup VS Code and iTerm returns zsh

I am trying to use iterm as my focus terminal inside vscode. I setup "terminal.external.osxExec": "iTerm.app",but I get zsh instead of iTerm.terminal screenshot in vscode

I can right-click on a file and open it in iterm, but I like the built-in terminal and I want to use iTerm here.

How to use iterm as my terminal?

You cannot install iTerm as an integrated terminal for VS Code. I explained why below.

iTerm is not a shell, but a terminal emulator, which in your case starts the zsh shell.

I believe that you are misleading the terms Shell and terminal emulator.

iTerm . - Gnome, Guake, Xterm .. , .

- , . bash, Linux , zsh, fish, sh.

Visual Studio , . Windows , Powershell Command Prompt .

Unix .

, iTerm , - zsh ( Z Shell, bash Bourne Again Shell).

wikipedia Unix Shell. , Unix.

Terminal emulators, .

. iTerm Mac OS.
