I read a lot about basic translation in Xcode, but some parts seem far from intuitive or correct.
Localizable.strings
For this question, I assume to have an application with basic translation and CFBundleDevelopmentRegion = en.
Expected Behavior
1) What is inside the base translation localizable.strings?
It must be English. Thus, all applications with a missing translation should return to the base (= English).
2) What do new translations do?
When I export files xlifffor translation, they should come from the base translation.
3) Is English needed at the base, which is English?
I do not need an English translation, since the base is English
Actual behavior
1) localizable.strings. . .
2) xliffs CFBundleDevelopmentRegion, . : xliff fr → , .
3) xliff NSLocalizedString, localizable.strings .
.
1) localizable.strings
2 + 3) , base.
