Can sqoop work without hadoop?

Just wondering if sqoop can work without hadoop cluster? sort of offline? Someone tried to run sqoop on a spark, please share some impressions with him.

To start Sqoop commands (such as sqoop1and sqoop2), Hadoop is imperative. You cannot run sqoop commands without the Hadoop libraries.

Sqoop also works in local mode, so Hadoop daemons are not required to work. To run sqoop in local mode,

sqoop [tool-name] -fs local -jt local [tool-arguments]
