Unable to switch soft keyboard in iOS Simulator 10.2 or 10.3

I use ios simulator 10.3and noticed that I can no longer switch the software keyboard and cannot type anything. I dropped to ios simulator 10.2, but the same problem persists.

I managed to get it to work by deleting com.apple.iphonesimulator.plistin ~/Library/Preference, but the problem reappears when I restart my simulator. Can someone help me fix this problem or tell me when or why this option is Toggle Software Keyboarddisabled?

defaults write com.apple.iphonesimulator ConnectHardwareKeyboard -bool YES
