Keras: Why does my val_acc suddenly fall on Epoch 42/50?

Using about 27,000 sample images for CNN, which have very good performance, but all of a sudden, in era 42, the accuracy of the check drops sharply (from val_acc: 0.9982 to val_acc: 0.0678) !. Any ideas? Should I just stop training at maximum val_acc? It is also strange that the accuracy of verification is always higher than the accuracy of training.
