Over the past four months, when using Chrome, on any page that opens a modal dialog box, the dialog box does not appear, but Chrome behaves as if it is there and does not respond - it just beeps while waiting for the dialog box to closing.
It doesn’t matter if it is a web page - for example, Google Calendar or even a folder selection dialog when you save a bookmark.
I am using Chrome Version 57.0.2987.110 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Professional Build 15063.
I tried everything to fix this, but I think there is an update for the DLL or Windows or another application that introduced this problem. At first I tried to disable all add-ons. I can’t remove any add-ons, because the option to remove the add-on produces a modality dialog that never appears and blocks Chrome. I cannot uninstall Chrome correctly, since uninstalling also produces a Chrome modal dialog box that gives the same error. I completely uninstalled Chrome manually, deleted every file in Program Files (32 and 64 bits) under Google, deleted a very Google account as part of the name or value. I searched for user files and deleted everything I could find.
But after all this, I reinstalled and the problem returned. When using Chrome on multiple machines, so definitely something on this machine is not a setting or add-on that is common to all machines when you log in to Chrome and synchronize settings.
It remains only to reinstall Windows, which I would like to avoid. Does anyone have any ideas?
