CNContactPickerViewController search bar does not work

I found out that the search bar in CNContactPickerViewController does not allow me to select found contacts. I also consider other stack overflow issues on this issue. This seems like an iOS bug. But I want to know if there is a way to hide or disable the search bar from CNContactPickerViewController? Because if this does not work, I do not want to show it.
