Out of curiosity, I simply compared the size of the virtual environment directory created by Conda with the one created by virtualenv.
$ conda create -p venv_conda python=3.6
$ python -m virtualenv venv_virtualenv
The size of the conda environment in Windows 7 is equal 110MB, whereas the virtualenv environment only accepts 22MB. This is five times more. Does anyone know why so much space is required in a conda environment?
