How to mock method e in a log

Question

Here Utils.java is my class for testing, and the next method that is called in the UtilsTest class. Even if I mock the Log.e method as shown below

 @Before
  public void setUp() {
  when(Log.e(any(String.class),any(String.class))).thenReturn(any(Integer.class));
            utils = spy(new Utils());
  }

I get the following exception

It worked for me. I use only JUnit and I was able to easily combine the Logclass without any third party lib . Just create a file Log.javainside app/src/test/java/android/utilwith the contents:

If you use org.slf4j.Logger, then I was just joked about Logger in a test class using PowerMockito.
