Jenkins email could not connect failure

I tried with various SMTP servers, but I can't get Jenkins to send an email. I get an error could not connect- nothing, only this error.

See screenshot below.

Any ideas why? I am using the Jenkins docker container, the firewall is turned off.

I do not have an email server running inside a Jenkins container. I believe I don’t need it if Gmail sends me an email.

Gmail configuration looks right. Usually these problems come down to the firewall, but if you are sure that this is not a problem, these may be your Gmail account settings.
