Amazon alexa works

Question

A simple search for "how alexa works" did not return any results, so here it is.

If you look at the documentation for utterances , you need to exhaustively list all the possible options, this is ridiculous. For example, you need to list the following options separately to support them.

• what is my horoscope

• what is my horoscope

• what is my horoscope

I may have misinterpreted the documentation, but I just wonder where exactly the machine learning algorithms are used to determine intentions and skills.

Any pointers to useful resources would be good too.
