Does the Google Play Store send a Beta App Update notification to Beta Testers?

My question is a little more specific to the question here

My application has not yet been published in production. We have published several beta versions of the application on the Play Store.

My question is Does the Google Play Store notify me of a beta update for beta testers?

eg. My previous beta code for my application is 4, which is already available with several beta testers, and I updated the application version code to 5 in the beta itself. Will my beta testers now receive notification of an app update on the Google Play Store?

This was my fifth beta update, but not a single beta tester received an application update notification for every application update we have done so far.

How does this compare with OPEN Beta and CLOSED Beta Testing?

After searching for a while, we found out that we were

  • using 2 Gmail IDs on the same device and
  • not a tester (not yet “become a tester”) Gmail names on another device.
