GPG error when using "stack download"

When I start stack upload, I get an error message:

GPG_TTY environment variable not set (see man gpg-agent)

Cannot find gpg2 or gpg executable

The download will succeed, but the error concerns me.

What are the consequences of this error? Is there a way to avoid suppressing it?
