Using local web fonts with webpack

Question

I am trying to use some local web fonts in a React project. I include them in the main.scss file and upload them via webpack. Assembly build is done correctly, including main.scss styles. I see that webpack downloads font files and copies them to public / fonts /, but my package file cannot find fonts.

As I understand it, your @ font-face src should be related to where the package will be. I install this in the same way that I upload fonts to webpack, ./fonts/ ' . The exact error I see is:

file:///Users/myusername/Documents/folder1/folder2/folder3/APP/fonts/FoundersGroteskWeb-Regular.woff net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND

I tried many different path configurations and used the publicPath parameter in webpack, but now I'm going in circles about what seems like a really simple reference error.
