Using log4net in Xamarin Android

I realized that there is a modified version of log4net that supports iOS , and I can see how it was done (this is open source), but, unfortunately, I do not have enough experience to do this on my own for Android.

I tried my best and got ConsoleAppender to work on Android, but FileAppender seems to need mutexes, and as I understand it, they are not supported on Android.

How can I make log4net work on Android?
