R shiny - are the uploaded data safe and secure?

Question

I am creating a brilliant application in which users upload transaction data to gain access to the dashboard. Can I assure these people that their data is safe with sniffers / hackers and will be deleted from the brilliant server when they expire? How does it work on Brilliant? (Please note that I will post my application on shinyapps.io)

This is not brilliant, but on any server where you store data, on how you use encryption / hashing, and also on the methods of protecting software and applications that you used to protect against certain vulnerabilities.
