Disable item in md autocomplete

Question

We have a situation where we turned the md-input container from md-select / md-option into md-autocomplete. In the md-select / md option, we could have the ng-disabled property for both md-select and md-option. For md autocomplete, we did not find a way to use ng-disabled at the option / item level. We use it on md-autocomplete, but you need to disable the options in the drop-down list as soon as they are selected.

Is there a way to do this using md-autocomplete? Thank you
