Android: apk size increases when creating a signed assembly

enter image description here If I create an assembly, usually in my android studio, it generates apk with size, but when I create a signed apk for the same code, does it increase the apk size?

In my case, the unsigned apk size is 7856 kb, and for a signed apk it is 8680 kb. It increased by 824 kb, why?
