Asp.net role manager error

I am trying to use roles to hide elements in my application, and this works fine in Visual Studio Express in my development environment. However, when I publish the site and place myself in a live environment, now I get a message about the lack of connectivity to the sql server instance.

It seems like several people have commented on the same thing in this post: Role Manager was not enabled

but I do not see a solution to this comment.

If I output the line roleManager enabled = "true" code in web.config, the site will connect until I get to where I have the code that is trying to hide the control, and then the error that the rolemanager is not enabled.

Here is my web.config file, I do not know how to make this work correctly. However, noob for many web programming:

I do not think the server is called LAPTOP-168YQ32

You probably need to change this to localhostor to the IP address provided by the hosting provider. I also do not think that it will use integrated security, but you will need the username / password command.

The connection string should look something like this.

<add name="DefaultConnection" connectionString="Data Source=192.168.0.101;Initial Catalog=aspnet-cs1-20160511031253;User ID=userName;Password=passWord" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>

your rolemanager section looks a little weird. What is this "NUMBER" in the build token?

, , , , "DefaultConnection",

:
