Running a virtual box / stroller in a cloud instance

Question

I tried two things:

At first I tried to install a virtual box on an EC2 machine, which turned out to be impossible.

Secondly, I managed to install both a firewall and a virtual box on drops of Digital Ocean, but when I tried to start vagrant up, it stuck on Booting VM.

Several Internet sources say it is not possible to run a virtual machine inside a virtual environment (both Amazon and Digital Ocean provide this).

Is there a way to solve this with another provider, or is there a way to run a firewall / virtual box in Amazon or Digital Ocean?
