Will there be an update for the time zone file for Turkey, since now the GMT + 3 time zone will be a constant time zone?

The Turkish government has now decided to remain in the EEST time zone (GMT + 3) (summer time); from today, the time zone will be set to GMT + 3 in Turkey. Will there be an update for the timezone file for Linux systems because of this change? When will it be published?

While you decide to stay in the current time zone, you can use GMT + 3 until you receive any updates from Turkish officials.

sudo unlink /etc/localtime
sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT+3 /etc/localtime

Good luck

Do not use +3, because zones like Etc / GMT + 6 are intentionally reversed for backward compatibility with POSIX standards.

Instead of using +3 below;

sudo unlink /etc/localtime
sudo ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT-3 /etc/localtime

Otherwise, you will have the opposite and there will be a difference of 6 hours.
