Is the template lab "not well combined" with Angular?

As an interaction developer looking for the best ways to collaborate with developers, I tried to introduce Pattern Lab to my current client. However, the lead developer for the front of the frame is thrown back. The main meaning of his argument:

Our toolkit contains complex components that require a JavaScript or JS library in addition to HTML / CSS. This will not work well with Mustache or Handlebars templates in Lab Lab. Thus, we use Angular JS, which is the basis on which our components are written.

I tried to find articles that discuss this topic. Nothing here on SO as far as I can tell. Outside of SO, I found a few posts ( example ), but nothing specifically related to the Lab Lab topic (lack of) compatibility with Angular, except for the parsing problem that was solved two years ago.

As a non-programmer, I do not have the necessary influence to influence my peers. It would be great if someone with experience could work out.
