Will the application built with the old version of Swift be able to live indefinitely in the application store?

OK, I have a question -

Some time ago, I built an application in Swift, using containers that, for one reason or another, disappeared once. This means that the project was there, but it returned to the older version and was unshakable. This is a great app that I released in the app store, so others use it fine, but I can't update it. The binary has disappeared.

My question is: with the update of the application store and Swift (i.e. Swift 3 now instead of 2), will my application be able to work in the application store in subsequent years? Right now when Swift 3 / ios 10 is still working fine. It's good.

But can an application written in the old version of Swift live endlessly in the app store? Or will he die one day? I hope that he is not the first.

Whether the application created with Swift is still available in the App Store in a few years does not depend on what it is written in Swift. For the released application, Swift is compiled into binary, and Swift libraries are compiled with the application. There are no special Swift dependencies left.

However, Apple may have other reasons for your application:

  • Your application has not been updated for a long time.
  • Your application has not been updated for the latest devices (for example, new screen formats).
  • iOS, iOS, . ( iOS , , iOS pre-iOS 7.)
  • iOS.
