Get the number of tweets per min for a specific channel

I am using pypi Twitter API

I need to call twitter API to receive tweets of one channel at a certain interval. I need the number of tweets for this period of time.

For example, the @NASA tweet channel counts it every 5 minutes.

I watch search tweets . It's right? But I think this does not give tweets.
