PrimeNG MenuCallback

Question

I am using p-panelmenu from the excellent prime-ng library.

<p-panelMenu [model]="items" (click)="onClicked(event)"></p-panelMenu>

The problem is that I cannot figure out how to get the menu to do anything. The examples on the primeNG website show all the menus displayed, but do not cause any action on them.

How to get the currently selected item? I note that there is a call to the "command" command in the menuItem class; but it seems crazy to define a callback for each menu item. Instead of a single callback that receives the selected menu item. What am I missing here?
