Uninstall Spacemacs

I am trying to install Emacs through Homebrew. Having done this and gaining access to the folder with my applications, I found that when I started Emacs, it came up with Spacemacs. I remembered that the system had Spacemacs installed several years ago. So, I deleted Emacs, deleted emacs folders. Now, Homebrew does not show Emacs installation. However, when I run emacs in the terminal, I still get Spacemacs.

How to completely remove Spacemacs so that I can install "vanilla" Emacs?

I thought I would look where Spacemacs was installed and did "whereis emacs", but nothing but a hint was returned.
