PHP 32bit. How to compare uint64 in string and binary representation?

PHP 5.3.6 32-bit (conversion to 64-bit is not possible).

It is necessary to compare 2 values uint64(8-byte unsigned integers). I get one of them as a string , and the other as a binary string .

Question

Is it possible to convert a string from uint64to an array of 8 bytes or convert an arrayfrom 8 bytes to string with uint64on PHP 32bit?

Illustration

I tried a base_convertfunction to compare base-2 string representations and got weird results. I know that the byte array contains the same uint64as the corresponding string. But I have no idea how to ensure that they represent the same number.

Found a solution (see my answer below), but not sure if this is the best way. I still hope to find something more clear and direct.
