How to make the application status bar look like Google maps?

Does anyone know how to make the statusbar look like google maps?

I manage to get transparent status for my box layout using android:fitsSystemWindows="true"and

<item name="android:statusBarColor">@android:color/transparent</item> <item name="android:navigationBarColor">@android:color/transparent</item>

layout → activity_main.xml

You can do this with themes:

<style name="AppTheme" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light">
    <item name="android:windowTranslucentStatus">true</item>
    <item name="android:windowTranslucentNavigation">true</item>
</style>

Or programmatically:

getWindow().addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_TRANSLUCENT_STATUS);
getWindow().addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_TRANSLUCENT_NAVIGATION);
