Is there a way to get the processor wake up event in Android?

I am trying to reduce power consumption in an Android application that should periodically process some data, but not so urgently that it needs to start the wake-up itself.

Is there a way to get an event when another application or process wakes up the phone anyway and then does some data processing? I am interested in reducing energy consumption below planned targets.

I understand that this is a strange question and may end up with a more laboratory experiment, which is an important solution to the problem, but this is what I would like to try, if possible.
