Can't use Stripe in iOS apps?

So, I ran into the problem of implementing the Stripe payment system in my application and presented the application for review a few days ago. My application was rejected, and Apple notified me that you must use the API to purchase applications for any payment system. It just doesn't seem right - why does Stripe even have an iOS SDK?
