Recent Google notifications not working

I am trying to test Google notifications nearby on my Android phone using iBeacon beacons. It seems to work only periodically. When I fall into the range of a beacon, notification does not seem to occur in most cases. I will see notifications in a few hours or at random moments.

I can’t understand how all this should work. I expect the notification to appear in the notification list (I know they have low priority) shortly after I am in the beacon range. All information about upcoming alerts is to get someone near the lighthouse to see the notification and take some action.

How it is implemented today seems completely useless. Has anyone seen this work correctly?

The implementation tries to balance the creation of developer value with user and battery attention. To this end, we made several options in the delivery version that you are likely to encounter:

  • If you delete a notification, it disappears for an exponentially increasing amount of time (1 day, 2 days, 4 days, ...)

  • The notification appears only after the event on the screen. For most use cases and users, this will be a minimum priority notification. This means that it does not create a status bar icon.

(adb shell setprop log.tag.NearbyDiscovery VERBOSE) , . , , . , , 3P ( nRF Connect), , 10 -15 .
