Xamarin.Forms Version

Question

When I create a new Xamarin.Forms project in Visual Studio, it uses the old version of the Xamarin.Forms DLL (v2.0.0.6482). In nuget theres, an update is available for v2.3.0.107.

Why is the old version used when creating the project?

Im about the latest update to Visual Studio 2015 and the Xamarin version.

This is expected since the form templates that come with Xamarin for Visual Studio are not updated as often as the package itself. You can continue and upgrade packages to the latest version available on NuGet. Just be sure to update the Forms package in all projects to the same version.
