Heroku's standard 1x speaker allows 512 MB of RAM. The standard 2x dynamic system on Heroku allows you to use 1 GB. Upgrading from 1x dinar to 2 so-called vertical scaling, while adding more 1x speakers is called horizontal scaling.
I believe that horizontal scaling allows my application to serve more HTTP requests, but I'm not sure what vertical scaling is.
Another thing that I don’t think about is over-characterized with Heroku: Does the 2 1x dynos have only 512 MB of RAM (instead of 512 MB + 512 MB)? If so, how much RAM does my application have with 1 1x dyno and 1 2x dyno?
And after updating / decreasing the number of speakers on the Heroku website, is there anything else that needs to be done through the terminal to make them work?
