SublimeLinter (for sublime 3) background for cppcheck not working

I am trying to configure cppcheck for sublimelinter and I am not sure why background check does not work.

The following works:

  • "SublimeLinter: Next error" => finds the following error

  • ctrl, s => finds errors

I checked twice and I am definitely in the background.

Does cppcheck have background mode for sublimelinter? That would make sense if it weren’t because C was compiled. But I just wanted to make sure, because I could not find anything about this.
