How to embed Google Maps in GitHub markup files

I am looking for a way to embed Google Maps in GitHub markup files. I know that GitHub does not allow the user to use the tag <iframe>in .md files, so embedding Google Maps in a .md file may not be possible.

Is there a way to use Google Maps in GitHub markup files?

Go to Google maps, find your location, go to "share" and copy the embed link; insert it into your markdown file and voila!

eg. try the following:
