The first columns are all 0.0, and we want to throw away this first column. Then for each column there is a colon separating the key from its value. And the goal is only to maintain meaning.

But how is this possible on the unix command line? (possibly with sed, awk, perl -cor python -c, or something else) Imagine that this is a big file, so, please, do not load the entire file into memory if there is no economic reason to do so.
