Install 2 versions of the same Windows 10 Universal application in the same OS instance

Question

We are developing a Windows 10 Universal application. There are currently 2 branches of application code, MAIN and DEV. We would like to be able to simultaneously install and run both instances on the same OS instance.

At the moment, we see no other way to do this than to have a separate virtual machine for each build of the application, but this is not our preference.

Does anyone have experience in this matter, and does anyone know if this is possible in terms of technology?
