Android device-specific preference icons => Lollipop

Question

I added the icon to the ListPreference using android: icon, but on devices with Lollipop or Marshmallow the icon is located on the left side of the available space, and not in the center where it is on pre-Lollipop devices, and how it should be.

Pre-Lollipop devices (api 18 - JB 4.3), this is how it should be!

Post-Lollipop (api 23 - MM), the icon is not centered.
