Does the order of these classes operate? col-sm, col-lg, col-md & col-xs are different

Question

I have a question regarding bootstrap 3.0 boot order, now if I write the following where I start from sm to lg: -

<div class="col-sm-4 col-md-4 col-lg-4 address">

will it differ if I change the order of the classes, as follows from lg, to sm: -

<div class="col-lg-4 col-md-4 col-sm-4  address">

or does the order not matter?
