Maybe something simple (hopefully), but activate environment_namegives me the message "Command syntax is incorrect."
I use Windows 7, conda 3.19.0, python 2.7.11, and I get this message with both cmd.exe and Anaconda command line.
It may seem like it has never worked for me before, since I just installed Anaconda - as an administrator (and the environment I refer to is an example of them).
Even after deleting the medium and re-creating it, I still get the same thing:
C:\Anaconda>conda create -n snowflakes biopython

C:\Anaconda>activate snowflakes
The syntax of the command is incorrect.
C:\Anaconda>conda info -e
bunnies C:\Anaconda\envs\bunnies
snowflakes C:\Anaconda\envs\snowflakes
root * C:\Anaconda
C:\Anaconda>
I updated both Anaconda and conda to no avail. I do not know if there was a problem installing the root directory or a PATH problem or what. I looked at the activation script and see nothing obvious there. Using the full path name does not help, as in
C:\Anaconda>activate C:\Anaconda\envs\snowflakes
.
