Working with my javascript application I noticed that the same ajax request in IE (11) is up to 10 times longer.
The size of the response is strictly identical (12.6 KB).
the only differences that I see are the following:
- IE adds Pragma: no-cache; not chrome.
- Chromes accepts sdch, not IE
As you can see in the screenshots below, server processing time and data transfer in both browsers are the same, but this startup time is very long for IE and can be up to 500 ms!
You will notice that the host is localhost. Is DNS lookup enabled?
Measuring with Fiddler produces the same results.
Can you help me explain this ?!
Edit: localhost server is IIS7, the server side of ASP.net. Web Api Services. Access to C ++ COM objects through Interops.
