Solr-thumbnail - some jpeg not processed

Question

I got some snapshots that I upload from admin django using solr.thumbnail.ImageField, and it works fine - the image is uploaded to the media folder, thumbnails are created in the subdir cache and the corresponding entries in the thumbnail_kvstore file are created.

I have some images that do not work, but they are uploaded to the media folder but no cache and thumbnail entries are created. No errors or anything else.

Django==1.8
Pillow==3.0.0
sorl-thumbnail==12.3

This image is obtained by me from a larger and resizing, but the same behavior applies to the original image. What should I look for these photos to work?
