Azure (ARM) VM status stuck on “upgrade” - after changing DNS to NIC through portal

My virtual machine was stuck on an “upgrade” for several hours from yesterday. I'm not sure if this is normal? The VM worked fine before then, but then I had to upgrade the DNS server on the NIC (for name resolution). I tried to restart the servers, but every time it goes into the UPDATING state. I tried to see any logs, but they are not there, I do not mean errors. Also, the boot image does not boot when you try to see this virtual machine screen. I am using a new portal. Any suggestions?
