How do I find rates in the Google Maps API?

I use Google Map API 3.0 to calculate the distance to two places. I can easily figure it out.

But now I need to find out all the bridges or ferry flights (if any).

For example, if I try to get the direction of the route [DFW Airport, Grapevine, TX, USA] to [McKinney, TX, USA] on Google Map, I get "This route has glitches." But using the Google Map API, I cannot find it. How can I understand that?

I think Google Maps gives tips on fees and ferries. But the Google Maps API completely ignores them.
